****** MARANTZ* CP230 / CP430 CASSETTE MACHINES ******
****** "BV" BROADCAST CONVERSION (TEMPORARY SHEET) ******
GEMTEK SYSTEMS "BV" conversion to the CP230 / CP430 makes the machines
more
rugged for the world of professional journalism. For news gathering,
these
machines are now finding favour with leading UK broadcasters.
The "BV" modification replaces the usual side connector plate with its
1/4 inch
microphone jack with a broadcast standard XLR input, gold plated to. To
give
better connectivity to other broadcast equipment, the machine also gets
a XLR
output, which is electronically balanced and delivers +4 dBu into a
mixer
input for a "0" VU recorded signal. The stereo inputs become "mono"
with this
conversion. A single input mode switch selects between microphone (mic)
input,
mic -15dB and "LINE" input level. Note that the output "phono"
connectors still
produce a stereo output at domestic levels, while the XLR output
follows the
"loudspeaker mode" switch for mono / stereo compatability.
Gemtek Systems has been modifying Marantz portable cassette machines
for about
three years with the full approval of MARANTZ Hi-Fi U.K. Limited. We
modify
customers own machines as well as suppling new machines with full
manufacturers
warrantie. These modified machines are used by Independent Radio News
Ltd,
Capital Radio PLC and BBC local radio stations.
