****** "XLR" BROADCAST CONVERSION (TEMPORARY SHEET) ******
GEMTEK SYSTEMS "XLR" conversion to the PMD201 / CP130 makes the
machines more
rugged for the world of professional journalism. For news gathering,
these
machines are now finding favour with leading UK media eduction
establishments.
The "XLR"" modification replaces the usual side connector plate with
its 3.5mm
microphone jack with a broadcast standard XLR input mounted in a metal
reinforced and trimmed side panel. The XLR is gold plated. Two input
mode
switches are fitted. The first selects between microphone (mic)input,
mic -15dB
and "LINE" input level. The second switch is for a low pass filter for
the mic
level input only. Note that in line mode, the input "phono" connector
still
works at domestic levels, while the XLR input is less sensitive for
"professional" line levels. The output is available on "phono" only.
