The GEMTEK SYSTEMS SILENCE DETECTOR is a unit that is wired in the output
of a studio or broadcast centre. When the normal through signal to the
transmitter "fails" for a preset period, a local "budget domestic CD player"
is started and the station output is replaced by an emergency service.

These units are also fitted at transmitter sites to cope with line failure
situations. The units can be remotely controlled by telemetry services to
force the unit in or out of service manually. The unit also has several
control outputs to set alarms when automatically activeated, or to reset
night time play out computers that may have crashed !!!
